John J. Handy, CIC
John was born and raised in Burlington, Vt and has spent his entire life here in the Green Mountains. Upon graduation from Burlington High School in 1979 he entered the Business School at The University of Vermont and earned his BS in Business Administration in 1983.
He joined The Essex Agency, Inc that same summer and has been with the firm for 23 years. He earned his CIC (Certified Insurance Councelor) designation in 1990 and became a Principal owner in 1996. He has served on the Agents Councils of many of the Carriers which he represents and presently is on The Board of Directors of The Vermont Insurance Agents Association.
John lives in Essex with his wife of 19 years, Jennifer Baker Handy and their three children, Axel, Ariel and Jamil. His hobbies include, baseball, skiing and working in his many gardens.
